Working with top design agencies to refresh an international icon

In spring 2015, the Savoy opened their new gourmet take away coffee, cake and ice cream counter, the Melba. In summer, guests can enjoy the famous Melba Icéclair – light a pastry filled with hand-made ice cream and topping. This jaw-dropping new store was designed by interior design consultancy, Dolman-Bowles and design agency, Pentagram, celebrated as the most influential design studio in the world.

This came as a development from their significant £220 million refurbishment and restoration of the iconic Savoy Hotel in 2010.

A precise brief calls for precisely considered signage

We were fortunate enough supply the signage for the Savoy’s new Melba store.

The Savoy’s brief to us was to collaborate with their design partners, Dolman-Bowles and Pentagram, to ensure that their creative vision was realised without any compromise.

Taking strict direction from them, we worked with them to realise their design – matching their material, construction and colour specification.

Luxurious bronze plaques

We were pleased to work with some of the leading creative businesses in the world to help reinvigorate an international icon.

Inspired by The Savoy’s timeless art deco and Edwardian style, we crafted a series of intricately engraved pure bronze signs with an antiqued finish.
